Dien Bien Phu Victory - a great triumph of Vietnamese people: Russian scholar

For the first time, artillery forces were mobilized at the highest level, including Regiment 45 of 105-mm howitzers, Regiment 675 of 75-mm mountain artillery (belonging to Artillery Group 351), and artillery battalions on the payroll of the Major regiment The Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7, 1954, was a great triumph of the Viet Nam People's Army (VPA) known by the whole world, according to Tsvetov Petr, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations of the Diplomatic Academy under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
This event is a vital lesson in military history, showing the strength of the Viet Nam People's Army and the military art of leaders, both General Vo Nguyen Giap and President Ho Chi Minh.
It also demonstrated that the French forces did not properly evaluate the strength of the Vietnamese people, as they really could not understand that once the Vietnamese people stood up to defend their goals and interests, they could fight selflessly and heroically, with both will and strength to defeat even the strongest enemies.
The scholar stressed that regarding military art, this was a very significant campaign that was worthy of being taught at military academies.
The French did not think the Vietnamese could pull such large artillery up the mountain. Additionally, they could not imagine that ordinary Vietnamese people could transport it all with bicycles and their own shoulders.
Thanks to the Dien Bien Phu victory, Russian experts emphasized, the French colonialists were forced to sign an Agreement that quickly brought many benefits to Viet Nam.
He attributed the victory to the skillful and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and Party General Secretary Truong Chinh.
During the battle at Dien Bien Phu, justice was on Viet Nam's side because the Vietnamese people stood up to defend their independence.
Besides, the support and assistance of countries in solidarity with Viet Nam worldwide, first of all, the Soviet Union and China, played a significant role in the Dien Bien Phu Victory, added Tsvetov.
